The Brehm Novitiate

Description

The Brehm Novitiate is a new offering by the Brehm Center focusing on spiritual formation for alumni of the Brehm Residency. Where the Residency focused on understanding the relationship between the arts and Christian faith, the Novitiate will focus on direct experiences of God through traditional spiritual disciplines reinterpreted through the lens of the creative process and prayerful silence. Participants will commit to an initial online retreat and monthly “listening groups” over the course of the year long program. This initial cohort will be run as a “Beta” group with participants being asked to document their experimental spiritual disciplines for the benefit of future groups as well as to discern whether they might be willing to lead a similar Novitiate cohort for others in future years.
